The Overwatch Esports League’s inaugural season has been one hell of a ride. With the biggest names in esports finally represented by teams, it was only right to assume that fan bases would be huge. Even though it came out in May, Overwatch Esports is already making its presence felt in the esports scene thanks to Blizzard’s efforts. The OWL drew in hundreds of thousands of viewers to tune in for matches between the best OW players.
A total of 20 teams entered the arena this season, with 10 teams representing cities all over the world. The first week proved how dominant some teams’ strategies were as they took down their opponents like nothing (such as Shanghai Dragons 0-40).

How one can improve its aim and assist in Overwatch Esports?
Overwatch is a pretty complex game with a lot of different mechanics and concepts, which makes it really difficult to master. One such mechanic is the spray & pray mechanism, which you will need to use in order to hit some of the trickier shots (such as Pharah’s concussive blast or Junkrat’s grenades). It can be very frustrating at first; you might not know when to spray or if you’re just wasting your ammo. It can be such a mind-bender that many players don’t even know how to improve their aim.
If you’re one of those people, then this article is for you! With the help of some useful tips & tricks, I will outline all the information that’s needed in order to become a better player.
Pre-shot Routine
Before you even start shooting, take a moment to identify your target and its surroundings. Are they behind cover? If you do shoot, will the rest of the team follow up with you, or are they too far away? What is their health bar at? Am I fast enough to kill this person before they can move out of cover? How much ammo do I have left?
If you follow, the list goes on and on, but the most important thing is to go through all these questions before you even pull the trigger. It’s so easy to just jump into a game and start randomly spraying around like crazy, but that just won’t cut it 99% of the time. You have to have a clear direction in your mind before you even start firing– that includes not only who you’re aiming at but what your objectives are.
Aiming is Easier With A Higher Resolution
One of the best ways to improve your aim is by setting up your game with a higher resolution. Most casual players wouldn’t touch this setting, but changing it to a higher resolution does make a massive difference when it comes to aiming.
The reason for that is because you will be able to see more of your surroundings and, depending on the level, even enemies that are far away. This makes it easier for you to realize where they’re coming from and what direction they’re moving towards.
In addition to this, you will also have a bigger image of your character when it comes to aiming, which is really helpful in trickier situations where targets are at odd angles and such. So if you’re having trouble with your aim, try changing up this setting and see how much easier it becomes for you!
